In April, I was introduced to a British schoolteacher who specialises in school leadership and the
professional development of teachers and education leaders in often challenging international situations. We were able to arrange for him to spend a month in Malawi in May/June, working in some of the schools we have been supporting. He designed and delivered teacher training programmes, gave leadership and management training to some of the head teachers, and worked on capacity building with local education managers. He was so successful that we have been asked if he can go back, possibly next term. This is fantastic work, and very supportive of both the teaching staff and, ultimately, the children.
